Question: How do i get bluetooth on my laptop?

I have a dell studio 1535 and am trying to use the bluetooth on it. I have a button with the bluetooth logo but when i press it nothing happens. is Is there a way to turn bluetooth on without using this button? Thanks in advance.

You have to go onto the bluetooth settings on your laptop and make it "discoverable " to other devices. Your phone will probably be set to "show to all " so that is why your laptop can find it, but it cannot find your laptop.

If your computer doesn't display a Bluetooth icon in the system tray (lower right hand corner) it means your laptop does not have Bluetooth capability. You need a bluetooth USB dongle: newegg.com/ Product/ Product.aspx?Item= N82E16833242004 &cm_re= bluetooth-_-33-242-004-_-Product Just because your laptop has a Bluetooth button, doesn't mean it comes equipped with Bluetooth. You have to pay extra for it if you want BT function built right in. For now, your only option is to use a USB based Bluetooth dongle. The button does nothing (you cannot control anything with it).
